What we collect

• When you sign in with Google, your name, email address and profile picture, and nothing else. We do not ask for access to your calendar, contacts, mail or files.
• The tasks and times you sign up for or cancel.
• If you arranged help directly with the teacher or room parent, they may add just your first name to a task even if you have no account. We keep only that name, no email, and only the teacher, room parent and administrator can see it.
• Your DPS volunteer approval status: whether it is approved, the date, when it expires, and who checked it. We never store the approval documents or any ID.

What we never collect

Student names or any other information about students. Please do not type a student's name into a sign-up note. Notes that include one can be removed by the teacher.

Who can see it

• Your name and email are hidden from other parents unless you choose to share them. You can share a first name or nickname instead of your full name.
• The classroom teacher, the room parent and the app administrator can see who has signed up and, if you opted in, your contact details. Approval status is visible to those roles only.
• We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.

Email and calendars

Room Helpers does not send email. If you choose to add a time to your calendar, the entry holds only the task name, the class, the date and time, and any details the task has. It never includes other volunteers' names.

How long we keep it

Volunteer records, including names added by a teacher or room parent, are deleted or made anonymous at the end of the school year. You can ask us to remove your information sooner at any time.

Where it is stored

Data is stored in a Postgres database hosted by Neon and served by Vercel, both in the United States.
