How Room Helpers works
Our classroom runs better with parent help, and the teacher shouldn't have to chase it by text and email. Room Helpers keeps it in one place: what the class needs, who is coming, and when.

1. Answer a couple of quick questions. When you join the class you'll be asked if you're an approved DPS volunteer this year, and whether other parents can see your first name. If you're not approved yet, apply at dpsnc.net/page/volunteering, and update your answer on My account once it comes through. Please be accurate: the school front desk may check at the door.
2. Pick something that fits your week. Open the Calendar. Open spots have a green outline. Tap I'll do this. Tasks can be in the classroom, at recess or lunch, a closet to clean out, supplies to drop off, or something you do at home.
3. Put it on your calendar. After you sign up, choose Add to Google Calendar or download the file for Apple or Outlook. Your upcoming times are listed at the top of the class calendar.
4. Plans change. Tap I can't make it. The time reopens and the room parent can see the cancellation, so someone else can fill it. A last-minute cancellation is only flagged, never penalized.
Privacy
Parents' names and emails are hidden from other parents unless they choose to share them. Teachers and room parents can see who has signed up. No student names are stored here, so please don't type one into a note.
